Once the chin-nod pattern is clean, the next problem is endurance: many people with recurrent neck pain can hold the right shape briefly but lose it during longer tasks, especially after a flare or after time spent at a desk.
This progression is used for the recovery phase of that neck-pain picture, when the question is whether the deep neck flexors can keep supporting the cervical spine for longer periods.

What this involves
- Lie on your back with the same gentle nod as in craniocervical flexion
- Hold for 10 seconds. Build week by week towards 30 seconds
- The front-of-throat muscles must stay soft the whole time
How much
Stay on the longer-hold stage first, then add the small head lift only once the chin nod stays clean.

Safety note
Chin poking forward on the lift is the sign to regress
